1 How do I suggest a speaker and /or topic for the 2011 Crossroads Conference?
The deadline for submitting Speaker Proposals for the 2011 Crossroads Conference is June 1, 2011. Topic and speaker suggestions will be reviewed and selected by the 2011 Crossroads Conference Committee.
2 Where can I get the most up-to-date details on the sessions that will be offered at the Crossroads Conference?
The Schedule tab on this website will display details on sessions as they become available.
3 What do I need to provide the Crossroads Conference once I become an approved speaker?
Once you’ve been confirmed as a speaker, you’ll need to complete the following form online:
Speaker Information Form, Agreement and Permission Form
You must complete and submit this form no later than July 1, 2011.
Photos and biographies of session speakers will be displayed on this Web site. Photos of keynote session speakers will be printed in the 2011 Crossroads Conference program. Crossroads Conference will use the information noted on the Speaker Information Form to complete your travel arrangements, introduce you at the conference, and ensure your AV needs are accurate.
4- When do I need to submit the Speaker Information Form?
Speakers should complete the form no later than July 1, 2011.
5 How would you like my photo?
The image should be a color photo at a maximum of 8” x 10” in physical dimension. To supply your photo electronically, make sure that it is in JPEG file format (.jpg) with minimum of 300 dpi. Photos in GIF file format (.gif) will not be accepted. Photos should be emailed to Matt Waters – m.c.waters@aggiemail.usu.edu.
6 How would you like my biography?
Please provide the Crossroads Conference with a bio of 350 words or less. Your bio will be displayed on the Crossroads Conference Web site and used by your moderator or announcer as an introduction.
7 When should I submit my presentation?
Your presentation (in Powerpoint) should be emailed Matt Waters at m.c.waters@aggiemail.usu.edu no later than August 1, 2011.
8 Does my presentation have to be in a particular format?
We welcome creativity at our presentations. Speakers are welcome to give their presentations in just about any format they prefer as long as all of the arrangements are confirmed with the Crossroads Conference prior to the convention.
9 May I use audio-visual resources during my presentation?
Yes. The Crossroads Conference provides a standard audio-visual package in each session room. You’ll have access to a laser pointer, projection screen and basic projection mechanism designed to support computer-based presentations such as PowerPoint. The lectern in each room will include a microphone and a computer connection to the projector. (However, please tell us in advance if your computer presentation contains audio and/or video clips; otherwise, any sound files you may have will not be audible to the audience.)
When you complete the Speaker Information Form, please note your equipment needs. Upon completing the Speaker Information Form, please select “submit,” and the form will be sent to us. The deadline to submit your speaker information form is July 1, 2011.
10 May I distribute handout materials?
Yes. You are welcome to distribute printed copies of handouts that complement your presentation. Crossroads Conference will duplicate the handouts for you if we receive them by August 1, 2011. We prefer the handouts in electronic form. If you prefer to duplicate the handouts yourself, you are welcome to bring them with you to your presentation. Please make sure to bring at least 200 copies for the session participants.
NOTE: Crossroads Conference does not allow the distribution of sales promotions and advertisements that are not relevant to the presentation.
11 Is there a fee paid to speakers?
No. Crossroads Conference does not provide payment to speakers or moderators for the participation at the conference.
12 Do I have to pay for my registration?
No. All speakers will receive a complimentary registration for all conference sessions and meals (1 1/2-day conference).
13 Do I make my own travel arrangements?
No. Reservations for travel and lodging for speakers will be made by Crossroads Conference personnel. You can find information regarding the conference hotel, along with a map, in the Location section of this website.
14 How many attendees are expected at the Conference?
We anticipate approximately 400 total attendees for the conference. Individual breakout sessions can expect 75-100 people in each session.
15 What is the attire for the Conference?
Business casual dress is encouraged for all events at the Crossroads Conference. Speakers are expected to dress in business attire for their presentations.
